01 ♪ video/action ♪ wake up sleepyhead!

[The feed shows a nice view of absolutely nothing. There is, however, the sound of someone spitting. Very lovely. He just woke up with a mouthful of dead rotting leaves. His day is off to a great freaking start, that's what.]

Ugh, nasty! Ow--... ow... ow. [Don't let the nonchalance fool you. He's realizing he's alive. Taking in a deep breath, and letting it out.

He's alive.

... And also FREEZING COLD. But wait until he finds a way home! This is impossible, but maybe-- just maybe--]

Hahah... jeez, it's c-c-cold. Am I in K-Keterburg or something?

-- Hey, what's...

[And here's when he brushes the journal off. Hello, there's a half-naked redhead getting up close and personal, and turning it upside down, and then shaking it out a bit. What is this strange and mystifying technology? It sure as hell isn't his journal.]

Weird.

[Feeling something tickle his shoulder, he reaches over to brush it off. And then he notices the wings, red with gold tips just like his hair. He has wings. This is not a drill. Luke drops the journal in favor of screaming like the grown man he isn't.]

W-what the hell is going on!?

[NO LUKE DON'T PULL ON THOSE--]OW! [Yeah, that hurt more than anything else in his life. Now he's curled up over his knees again, trying not to cry. He almost blacked out there.]

G-guess they're real...

Hey, don't worry about it!

[He offers a smile as reassurance, moseying just a bit closer. He glances from Luke to his jacket, hesitating for a moment. If Luke stays like this, he'll probably catch a cold, so that won't do, so, after a few moments, Ven tugs off his coat and holds it out to Luke. He's got a shirt on underneath, so it'll be okay!]

Anyway, you're in Luceti-- if that doesn't sound familiar to you, then don't sweat it. I didn't know the first thing about this place until people started cluing me in.

[And even then, it was a learning experience, one complicated by lookalikes, Vanitas... Hopefully Luke'll face fewer problems by comparison.]

[Not really shorter, actually-- seeing how Ven's spent three years in Luceti, he's gained a few inches, but that's a minor detail. What matters is, he's got something warm on. That sure as heck beats turning into a human popsicle.

The Malkuth comment prompts a laugh out of him, and he shakes his head. Maybe he should nip this one in the bud before things get too confusing...]

Nope, and it's not part of any other place you've heard of, either; Luceti's off in its own world, and I'm not exaggerating, either. It's...

[Hmm... How to put this?]

Okay, so, you can think of it like being sent to one of the other millions of stars in the sky. Or another planet, I guess. That's how most people seem to look at it.

[Fonons... ah, right, that's what everyone from Luke and Ion's world are made of, isn't it? It's been a while since he's heard the word used, so it takes a second for him to connect the dots, but when he does, he lets out a sheepish laugh and scratches his head.

Okay, so what's the best way to put this so it makes sense?]

Um, well, think of it like magic. Really strong magic that can catapult you through space before you even blink! ...And slap wings on your back.

[Which he doubts any kinda fonic artes can do on their own. Or at all.]

Believe me, if I told you half of what I've been through, you'd probably like that last explanation just as much. Luceti's got this habit of being kinda crazy.

[He could tell Luke stories. Lots of stories, but seeing how he's so new, Ven'll keep his trap shut for now. Better to help ease him into the place first, after all!]

Anyway, the name's Ventus, but you can call me Ven.

[It's nowhere near as formal, after all.]

[personal profile] risingwinds 2014-02-16 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Heh. He looks kinda silly huddled under that jacket, but who's Ven to judge? In Luke's position, he'd probably do the same thing. Anything to keep warm!]

Don't worry about paying me! Everything's free here, and besides all that, there's a whole shop stuffed with clothes.

[He looks over his shoulder for a second.]

Want me to take you there? You'll probably wanna grab some shoes, anyway.

I am so sorry this is late D: darn school

[personal profile] risingwinds 2014-02-21 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's because of the supply, honestly. Most of the time, the Malnosso just keep sending stuff into the shops.

[He pauses, and his eyes widen slightly.]

But I guess when it comes to our clothes, anyone could grab 'em in theory-- most people just know better. But uh, just in case, maybe we oughta pick up the pace.

[He points in the general direction of the shop before motioning to Luke. Ven's not gonna go too fast, but given Luke's lack of footwear, the sooner's the better, in his book.]
risingwinds: (we just gotta believe!)

finals seasons is the worst, and eek. I coulda sworn I already got this. Stupid inbox. >/

[personal profile] risingwinds 2014-03-07 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well, usually our clothes don't have wing holes cut into 'em. That's the easiest way to tell that they belong to somebody, since just about everything in the shop's pre-cut.

[Ven flutters his wings as he says this.]

Means you might have to fold them down at first, but I've seen people who prefer to keep their wings hidden. Guess it all depends on what you're comfortable with.

[The wings are a weak spot, after all. Leaving 'em exposed carries risks, though in his experience, keeping them crammed under armor leads to some nasty soreness later.]
risingwinds: (this is my Terra impression)

Still got two projects to do, but I'm almost there! Thank you. :)

[personal profile] risingwinds 2014-03-10 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'd definitely keep 'em out for now! It's really tough moving 'em at first. Like... hmm.

[He stops midstep, taking a look over his shoulder.]

The best way I can describe it is like your brain's having to send out signals to two new body parts it's not used to having. And, well, if you live your whole life with just two arms and two legs, it's pretty weird having to account for two more limbs.

[Might be a bit of an understatement, actually, but after being stuck for four years, it'd probably be equally tough losing the things.

At any rate, it shouldn't take long before the first signs of civilization pop into view-- most notably, the multi story Community Housing complexes towering over some of the trees. Some smaller houses line the path along with bridges spanning over the river. If nothing else, they're on the right track.]

Yup! I dunno if it's always been this huge, but sometimes I feel like it's more of a town. Maybe a small city.

[He shrugs, squinting up at the sky with a hand over his forehead. The Battle dome oughta be pretty close by-- ah, there it is.]

'Course, it probably doesn't help that this place has some really advanced technology sitting around. See that big building over there? It's got this huge arena where you can simulate all kinds of cool stuff!

[personal profile] risingwinds 2014-03-16 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ven chuckles the moment Luke perks up, not that he can fault his enthusiasm. The battle dome's always been one of Ven's favorite spots, partially because it's an arena, and partially for the freedom of whipping up all sorts of weird scenarios...

Which brings him back to reality. How to put this...?]

Sure, it's for matches, but the thing with the battle dome is that you can input a bunch of different settings to create a ton of different arenas. You could make it feel like you're under water, up in the sky... I'd say the sky's the limit, but that'd probably sound really silly.
risingwinds: (eager)

[personal profile] risingwinds 2014-03-18 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
It could! You can even play around with the gravity settings so you can jump really high!

[Ven even hops forward as he says this, turning around once he lands.]

Maybe once you're all dressed up, I can show you a thing or two.

[But first, they should probably keep focused. Last thing they need's to get sucked into the dome, waste like six hours, and still have to scrounge up some clothes.]
